College benefits for our alumnae community

As an alumna of Murray Edwards College/New Hall, you are welcome to come back at anytime and enjoy the College facilities. We hope to see you in College in the near future.

Dining

Formal Hall

Murray Edwards alumnae are welcome to attend Formal Halls in College. Our alumnae are entitled to dine free of charge once each term, and may also attend up to three additional meals per term at the guest price. Alumnae are welcome to bring up to three guests with them for the price of £22.45 per person.

Requests to dine in Formal Hall are always subject to availability and granted on a first come, first served basis.

Superhall

Murray Edwards alumnae are welcome to attend Superhalls in College. Alumnae spaces at Superhall are always subject to availability and granted on a first come, first served basis.

Alumnae and their guests must pay £25 per person.

Library

Alumnae are welcome to use the College Library between the hours of 10am and 6pm. Please sign in at the Porters' Lodge and you will be given a temporary day pass. Unfortunately you will not be able to check books out of the premises, but you are encouraged to use the space for quiet reading, research and working.

Gardens

We encourage alumnae to come and enjoy our beautiful gardens, which are open every day between 10am and 6pm.

Accommodation

Alumnae can reserve rooms in College outside term time at a discounted rate. Find out more about staying in College.

The Women's Art Collection

The Women's Art Collection - The largest collection of women's art in Europe is open to the public daily from 10am-6pm. Admission is free and a self-guided tour is available from the Porters' Lodge.

Squash and Tennis Courts 

Alumnae are welcome to use the College's squash and tennis courts free of charge. Monday to Friday you can book through the Development Office by emailing alumnae@murrayedwards.cam.ac.uk. At the weekend please contact the Porters to book a court, call 01223 762100 or email: porters@murrayedwards.cam.ac.uk

College Gym

Alumnae are welcome to become members of the College gym. The membership rate is £52 per year and there is a one-off charge of £5 for the induction (this only has to be paid once and does not have to be repeated if you have a break in membership). All new members must attend an induction before they can use the gym.
